CONNECTICUT ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM  The Woodbridge Human Services Department will accept residential applications for the 2006-2007 Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) and the State Appropriated Fuel Assistance (SAFA) Program, administered by TEAM Inc. The program will begin October, 2006, therefore any heating costs prior to November 1, 2006 will not be applicable to the 2006-2007 program. Applications will be accepted by scheduling an appointment by calling 389-3429.
Verification of income must be submitted with the application. This includes copies of the last statement(s) or checks(s) for: (a) pay stubs (last 4), or income verification from the individual's employer, (b) Social Security, (c) Supplemental Security Income (d) pension, (e) unemployment, (f) alimony/child support, (g) interest and dividend income. A liquid asset limit of $10,000 for homeowners and $7,000 asset limits for renters will be an additional eligibility requirement for household. In addition, the names, dates of birth, and social security numbers of all family members residing with the applicant are required. The Connecticut Energy Assistance program, which is federally funded, provides assistance for residents with incomes below the federal poverty level.
